DGM Research & Consulting provides expert support across the research process
- The client arrives with a question that needs to be answered.
- DGM Research & Consulting ascertains whether and to what extent the topic has already been researched.
- DGM Research & Consulting provides the client with a list of previous studies that pertain to the topic.
- The client reviews the previous studies to determine where their proposed research fits into the existing body of knowledge or where it fills a gap left by previous studies. This defines the precise research question.
- The client designs a study or an experiment to answer the research question.
- The client prepares a manuscript for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
- The journal publishes the client’s manuscript.
DGM Research & Consulting supports Step 2, Step 3, and Step 6.
Step 2: We determine the correct databases to search based on the client’s topic. We construct highly-specific search strategies using keywords, controlled vocabularies, limiters, filters, hedges, and/or other variables depending on the tools available in each database. We document the search strategies according to editorial board standards.
Step 3: We combine and deduplicate the references into a single result list for the client. Using citation management software, we can output the final result list in nearly an format or style that suits the client’s needs.
Step 6: We can proofread, review, and/or edit the client’s prepublication manuscript. We can also advise on journals to submit to and predatory journals to avoid.
